ALL VANITY
With about four rapid terrifying footsteps from behind, I felt a choke on my neck as a hand grabbed the collar of my shirt from the back. At the same time with a commanding tone, a male voice said, “quietly hand over those phones in your pocket". I knew there is no way I’m handing over my very expensive phones to a stranger without a fight. Struggling to free myself from his grab, I received a very resounding slap on my right face followed by another voice, "don't dare me, just hand over the phones". Well, i expected nothing less from a thief,
so the pain from the slap immediately became irrelevant as I managed to turn around quickly, swinging my right elbow as hard as I could right across his face, I bet it hit his nose. Finally he left my collar, but I immediately saw him throwing a punch at me, so I charged
my own punch too. He aimed low hitting my stomach while I aimed high hitting his nose again and it started bleeding. I again threw another jab with my left arm which he dogged and started running.
I took a deep breath of relief as I reached for my pockets and my phones were still there but something wasn't right. I started feeling dizzy and my legs couldn't carry my own weight anymore. It's then I realized the punch he threw at me initially wasn't a punch, rather I have been stabbed and almost bleeding out. I held my stomach and with all the strength in me, I tried to walk but I instead fell to the ground and all I could do was just stare at the blue sky. Just as my eyes were about to finally shut down, they open again but this time i was lying on a bed in my bedroom. I reached for my pocket and I couldn't feel the expensive phones i have been fighting for anymore. Feeling angry and disappointed, I realized it was all a dream. i closed my eyes again for some seconds in attempt to go back to the dream to get my phones but that wasn't possible. It was then something stuck me and I asked myself, so this is what it will be like when one day i wake up in another realm with everything I have been fighting in this world gone? Cloths, riches, houses, gadgets, cars, everything gone... All vanity.
Now happiness is all about what we achieve and not how we achieve it but i urge you guys to take it easy and keep in mind that in just a short while it will be the other way round.
